Fitch's Corners

This weekend we celebrate Fitch's Corners, one of the annual highlights of both the equestrian and social scene. Make a plan to enjoy the Horse Trials Weekend, July 18-20. There is something elegant and fun for everyone.

The trials are held at the private farm of Fernanda Kellogg and Kirk Henckels and located in the heart of the Millbrook hunt community. The horse competition is the core activity of the weekend. The elegant setting, challenging courses and wide array of associated activities attract both amateur and Olympic competitors.

And there are many activities from which to choose. Shop at Fitch’s Market, an extraordinary collection of fifty vendors offering items from fashion to home, accessories for both horse and hound. Eat at Fitch’s Food Court whose menu boasts healthy and hearty fare.

Or take part in the social events. The Blue Jean Ball happens Saturday evening, an informal event for competitors, friends, sponsors and volunteers. The Spectator Luncheon on Sunday is the country chic event! It is held under a fully decorated tent overlooking the stadium arena. Guests enjoy a seated luncheon, a multi-course buffet, proceeds to benefit the Millbrook Fire Department and Rescue Squad. Ladies are requested to wear hats.

Following the luncheon enjoy the Collector Car Show and Parade, an exhibition of antique and vintage automobiles. The vehicles are on display, hoods up, and also take part in the Parade and Awards Ceremony.
