Hanq's

Kristopher Kelsey gained his experience in entertainment venues across the country—from Las Vegas to Foxwoods—but now the Northwest Connecticut native has brought it all home and launched his own, wildly successful, restaurant in Torrington CT.

Since its debut last May, Hanq’s, located at 131 Water Street, has been lauded by patrons for its fresh and creative takes on traditional dishes created using farm-fresh ingredients from regional producers.

“I don't live in Torrington anymore,” wrote one convert, “but I will be making the forty minute drive to visit again after an amazing Steak Frite salad that I am still thinking about a week later.”

“Finally! A beautiful and amazing bar and restaurant in Torrington!,” enthused another. “Such an awesome find!!”

Kelsey says the restaurant, located in an old brick building that has an upscale ambiance while retaining hints of its industrial past, provides fine dining and drinks created by executive chef Mike Wilusz. Wilusz uses only fresh local products from the New England region. Quality draft beers are rotated through the menu and the restaurant has a full bar.

Reservations are recommended on weekends (call 860-309-7200). The building is not wheelchair accessible. There is seasonal outdoor seating on the rooftop patio. The restaurant is open Wednesday and Friday, 5-10PM; Thursday, 4-11PM; Saturday, 1PM until midnight; and Sunday, noon to 10PM. It is closed Monday and Tuesday.
