New York State is offering hundred of events throughout the weekend celebrating its historic and cultural heritage. Visit an underground prohibition era distillery established by a formidable mobster—worthy of being included in HBO’s series Boardwalk Empire. Or tour Montgomery Place—the long-time home of the Livingston Family for almost 200 years—to learn about the world-renowned architects, landscape designers and horticulturalists who helped create this elegant and inspiring country estate. ARCHAEOLOGY AT BIDWELL MUSEUM
June 17th, Saturday 10AM

In anticipation of the planned archaeological investigation at this authentic 1760s homestead, Bidwell House Museum is hosting an event offering intimate knowledge of this exciting undertaking on their grounds. Professor Eric Johnson, Director of Archaeological Services at UMass Ahmerst and Kerry Lynch, Ph.D, Senior Aracheologist will discuss the plans for the dig, offer insight into how the work is done and provide examples from other 18th-century homes. $15 GA, $10 for members.

TRAVELS WITH A MASKED MAN
June 18th, Sunday 2PM

Berkshire Theatre Group’s On The Stage Series≤ is putting on a play writen by Shakespeare & Co founding member John Hadden. Travels With A Masked Man is a play about deception, espionage and rough filial love. The son of an ex-CIA chief confronts his father and their alternately horrifying, hilarious and poignant dialogue covers everything from the Cold War to abstract art and James Bond Films. MUSIC IN THE GARDEN: SUMMER SOLSTICE
June 18th, Sunday 5-6PM

Hollister House is celebrating the official beginning of summer with a live concert in the Garden. Led by creative director Douglas Myers, The New Baroque Soloists will present their program Festive Music for the Summer Solstice. The event will include rosé and sparking water, and you are encouraged to bring your own picnic (food, chair, blanket or anything else you might need.) The concert will be held on the main lawn of the Garden and you can purchase tickets on the Hollister House website. $35 GA, $30 Members.
