COMMUNITY HEALING CIRCLE

Every last Wednesday of the month The Village Herbalist offers the community an opportunity to join together in a gathering similar to a reiki share. Open to anyone in need of prayers and healing energy, whether for themselves, the planet or others. Drawing on a belief in the living healing intelligence of nature and the universal force of life, participants call upon the power of vulnerable and honest sharing in a supportive community setting. RSVP.

CHANGE IN MOTION:
DANCE AND POLITICS MOVING BEYOND BOUNDARIES

February 23th, Thursday 7-8:30PM

Throughout human existence dance has served as a powerful mode of communication; able to transcend boundaries of gender, race and sexual politics and empower individuals to “speak” with their bodies. In this talk 2017 Hannah Arendt Fellow Dana Naomy Mills looks at the political power of dance from a global perspective. Mills draws on diverse examples such as the work of dance pioneers Martha Graham and Isadora Duncan, gumboots dancers in the gold mines of South Africa, Dabke dancers in Palestine and the One Billion Rising movement challenging gender violence through flash mobs.
