It’s hard to believe that another summer season has come and (almost) gone in the Berkshires. As many of the music festivals come to a close, this week is the opportunity to pack in all the last events. Make this week a feast for the ears.

BOOGIE AND SWING: A BIG BA(N)D AT INFINITY HALL
August 31st, Thursday 8PM

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy is returning to Norfolk’s Infinity Hall to serve up some big band boogie from days past. Swing and shake along with this high energy nine-piece ensemble that carries on the legacy this great musical genre with both their original pieces and original takes on the greats. $44-64.

MOSTLY ITALIAN: CELEBRATING CHAMBER MUSIC
September 1st - 2nd, Friday - Saturday 8PM

For its 35th Anniversary Concert, the Sherman Chamber Ensemble will perform a Mostly Italian set featuring Verdi and more! Joining the musicians will be special guest saxophonist Eddie Barbash who is a founding member of Jon Batiste and Stay Human—the house band for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. They will perform the program back to back nights in Kent and Sherman CT.

PRECISION AND HARMONY: SHANGHAI STRING QUARTET
September 2nd, Saturday 6:30PM
September 3rd, Sunday 3PM

Renowned for its passionate musicality, impressive technique and multicultural innovations, the Shanghai Quartet has become one of the world’s foremost chamber ensembles. Elegantly blending the delicacy of Eastern Music with the emotional breadth of Western repertoire, the Quartet will perform the compositions of Mendelssohn and Brahms on Saturday evening. For the Sunday performance and benefit, the quartet will be joined by dynamic pianist Qing Jiang and will perform Beethoven. Tickets for Sunday’s Labor Day Benefit Concert & Reception are $75. Saturday tickets are $35.

BERKSHIRE RAMBLERS: LAST OF THE TROUBADOURS
September 3rd, Sunday 8PM

The Berkshire Ramblers will be closing out the Troubadour Series, as has become tradition give the group’s synchronicity with the Guthrie Center celebrating community, connection and cultural heritage through music. Firmly entrenched in the musical community, the entertaining group celebrates folk songs of the “old style” with a lot of love and a lot of fun.

MUSICAL MAVERICKS:
JOE ICONIS & FAMILY TAKEOVER THE MAINSTAGE

For the final blowout event of the summer, favorite Barrington Stage Company Cabaret performer Joe Iconis and his tribe of musical theater misfits are taking over the Mainstage. These musical mavericks (including Lauren Marcus one of the immensely talented performers of this season’s hit Company) will make it clear why The New York Times calls them “The Future of Musical Theatre” with songs about anything and everything that make you laugh, cry, scream or drink. $35-45
