Each Berkshires season brings its own delights—cozy evenings spent by a roaring fire as a winter wind whistles around the house; the first blush of green as the Earth wakes from its winter slumber, and the lush pleasures of a Berkshire summer with all its cultural offerings. But few things can be better than exploring the region’s highways and byways when Mother Nature puts on her gaudy fall display.
Two of the region’s most prestigious inns are offering “Fall for the Berkshires” packages this month to make a romantic getaway even more alluring.
The Red Lion Inn, which has been offering visitors its hospitality since 1773, is offering a package Sundays through Thursdays that includes overnight accommodations plus two autumn beers and a savory snack for rates beginning at $160.
But like the fleeting beauty of the foliage, visitors should hurry to take advantage of the opportunity. The offer, which does not include room tax, ends with the month.
The Red Lion’s sister hostelry in Pittsfield MA, the five-star Hotel on North, is also enticing visitors to come and enjoy the spectacular beauty of the region with savings of up to 30 percent.
The package includes a choice of accommodations, daily breakfast in Eat, one of the area’s hottest new eateries and craft beer tasting. Rates start at $179 per night. The package is offered through October 27th and taxes are not included.
