Oh, happy day! We just found out that author/designer and junker Mary Randolph Carter Berg (but please call her Carter!) is coming to one of our favorite vintage and design shops, Hunter-Bee. What merriment is this? A book-signing for the renowned tastemaker and thrifter extraordinaire, Carter.

It’s the perfect combination. Jonathan Bee and Kent Hunter, two of the collectors featured in Carter’s new book, will host the queen of flea market fabulousness in their stylish showplace of Americana, industrial and high design.

Oh yes, we’re going!

Carter is the creative director for Ralph Lauren, and the author of the Junk series of coffee table books which legitimized thrifting for once and for all. Her latest book, Never Stop to Think... Do I Have a Place for This? is a collaboration with her photographer son, Carter Berg, and a guide to living well and stylishly with the objects and collections about which we are passionate.

Carter, who has kept a home in Millerton for the past 25 years, is a real-life tastemaker who admonishes her reader “not to scrub the soul out of your home” and uses phrases like “picturesquely cluttered". We wish Carter every success with her new book!

Mary Randolph Carter will be signing at Hunter-Bee, 21 Main St, Millerton, NY, Saturday May 31st from 4-6PM. Refreshments will be served and there will be an extra “junkie surprise” for those who buy a book at the event.
