Nodine's Smokehouse

Everyone loves a good local food purveyor, especially when that food purveyor makes amazing smoked, cured and cased meats! That’s why this week’s favorite thing is Nodine’s Smokehouse.

Established in 1969 by Ronald Nodine, a smoked food enthusiast with the goal of creating gourmet, smoked meats, Nodine’s has it all. They offer items such as traditional ham and bacon, bratwurst, fish and cheese. Their nitrate free and uncured options are a delicious and rare find. They even have treats for your furry friend.

Our personal favorite is the Cranberry-Apple Chicken Sausage. It provides a delightful balanced flavor with just a hint of sweetness, to any of your sausage recipes; think stuffing. It is also amazing alone with a dash of Dijon mustard. Not to mention the lower fat content means less guilt. If you prefer to keep fruit away from your meat, make sure to try their Andouille or bratwurst. Both are the best we have found in the area.

Now that you’re hungry, stop by their retail store in Goshen or check online to see if your local supermarket carries Nodine’s. If all else fails, order online!
