Open Your Eyes Tour

The hills of Northwest Connecticut are alive with creativity as artists and artisans labor in their studios. On Saturday, June 24th, and Sunday, June 25th, 32 of those artists will open their studios in the Northwest Connecticut Arts Council’s “Open Your Eyes Studio Tour.”

The tour will be conducted 10AM-5PM on Saturday and 10AM-4PM on Sunday, in studios located in Sharon and Salisbury.

Free ticket packets can be ordered through the Council’s website and include a map, direction sheets, suggested itineraries and convenient sign-in stickers.

The Studio Tour is free and includes painters, photographers, sculptors, multi-media artists, ceramicists, textile artists, jewelers, printmakers, woodworkers and a blacksmith.

Each year the Northwest Connecticut Arts Council selects groups of towns within its 25-town service area for the tour. In recent years the event has seen almost 1,000 visitors, with many returning annually. The goal of the tour is to shine a light on the many artists who live and work in our region. Having featured all 25 towns in its service area over the past seven years, the Council is starting a second cycle with this tour.

Also new this year will be a Toast the Tour after-party on June 24th, hosted by Lakeville Interiors, followed by a set of dinners in private homes in the region, to raise funds for the arts council and the tour.

The Council serves Barkhamsted, Bethlehem, Burlington, Colebrook, Cornwall, Falls Village, Goshen, Hartland, Harwinton, Kent, Litchfield, Morris, New Hartford, New Milford, Norfolk, Canaan, Plymouth, Roxbury, Salisbury/Lakeville, Sharon, Thomaston, Torrington, Warren, Washington, Winchester and towns surrounding this service area.
