Ventfort Hall

Take a step back into the Gilded Age at this Jacobian Revival-style mansion rich with history of the days of Lenox past.

The “cottage” was built in 1891 by notable architects Rotch and Tilden for Sarah Morgan, sister of J.P. Morgan. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Ventfort Hall is the home of The Museum of the Gilded Age and presently is filled with day-to-day activities that aim to teach visitors about that particular slice of American life with tours and lectures as well as special themed concerts and performances.

Notable for serving as the film location for the 1997 movie, The Cider House Rules, Ventfort Hall is popular during the holidays when the mansion is all decked out for the season in Gilded Age style and during the summer when it hosts a camp for young ladies.

And if none of those activities peak your interest, you can even rent it out yourself and host a dinner party right out of the history books.
