Windfall Sale at Prime Finds

Interior designer Matthew Smyth surrounds himself—and his clients—with beautiful things. But even the most exquisite item cannot fit the character of every building.

That was the case when Smyth gave up his Colonial-era home in Sharon and moved to a contemporary building in Salisbury. So Smyth continued his generosity to Prime Finds, a high-end thrift shop in Salisbury that raises funds for Prime Time House in Torrington. PTH works with Litchfield County residents living with mental illness.

The designer has “picked” the shop in years past as he gathers items to enhance clients’ homes. Conversely, he has often donated beautiful items to the store’s stock. Now he has donated many of the items from his former home, which will be offered in a Windfall Sale Party Friday from 5 to 7:30PM. Designed for people who want first dibs on these items, the party has an admission fee of $20. Wine and cheese will be served.

The items have been priced to move but what doesn't sell that evening will, of course, be available in the store thereafter—without the $20 admission fee.

In preparation for the party the store will be closed during regular hours Thursday and Friday.

Prime Finds is located at 350 Main Street in Lakeville, CT. The store was named as a 2015 Editor's Pick by Yankee Magazine for "Best Affordable Antiques” in its "Where to Go & What to Do Best of New England" edition.
