PREMIERE ANTIQUES EVENT LAUNCHES THIS FRIDAY IN KENT

This Friday, June 22nd, the Litchfield County Antiques and Mid-Century Show launches its 15th year as the region’s foremost summer antiques event. The three-day event begins with a gala preview party Friday evening at the Kent School’s Springs Center. For the first time, the event is heralding three honorees noted for their achievements in design, fashion, business and philanthropy. They include fashion and lifestyle luminary Polly Allen Mellen, interior design guru Mathew Patrick Smyth and retail pioneer Lillian Vernon. The show itself, managed by the Antiques Council, boasts some of the nation’s finest antiques dealers specializing in American, British, French and Asian antiques, as well as pieces from the Arts and Crafts, Art Nouveau and Mid-Century design movements.

“The event is the largest fundraiser and the major source of funding for Greenwoods Counseling Referrals,” according to event chairman Tom Sebring. This vital regional resource provides “essential referral services to people in the area who are in need of emotion, financial and legal counseling. Greenwoods services are free of charge to anyone living or working in Litchfield County.”

A book-signing event is also scheduled to coincide with the Friday evening preview gala featuring Litchfield authors and photographers Florence de Dampierre, Annie Kelly and Tim Street, Susanna Salk, and Matthew Patrick Smyth.

Show dates and times:
Friday, June 22nd, 6:30pm - 9:00pm Gala Preview and Book Signing
Saturday, June 23rd, 10am – 6pm
Sunday, June 24th, 10am – 4pm
