CultureMAX Awards

Six recipients of the second annual CultureMAX awards presented by the Northwest Connecticut Arts Council have been announced.

The award winners will be honored Tuesday, 17 November from 5:30- 8PM at the Morrison Gallery in Kent so plan to attend to help celebrate the winners' accomplishments.

And the winners are...

Vita Muir, founder and executive director of Litchfield Performing Arts/Litchfield Jazz Festival in the lifetime achievement category;

John Marshall, internationally renowned percussionist and founder of Rhythmic Integration Center in the Artist category;

Peter Vermilyea, teacher, public historian and author of “Hidden History of Litchfield Hills” in the Heritage Professional category;

Edward Cannata of Torrington in the Volunteer category;

TriArts Sharon Playhouse in the Cultural Organization category; and

Infinity Hall, Norfolk in the culture-loving Business category.

The awards were established in 2014 by the Arts Council. The event is sponsored by 22 Mainstreet Finds+Design of Millerton NY, Litchfield Bancorp, The Community Foundation of Northwest Connecticut, VLC Images and Morrison Gallery.
