REAL AND IMAGINED: MASTER CLASS IN ILLUSTRATION
January 12th, Saturday, 10AM - 3PM

Gregory Manchess, an award-winning illustrator, is leading an exploration of the art of realist painting inspired by the imagination. Light and shadow, color strategies, figure construction and tonal design will be discussed and demonstrated All levels are welcome. The artist has worked in nearly every aspect of illustration, building visuals for a wide range of clients—from children’s books, to book covers, to advertising, film projects and murals. You can also enjoy his paintings for Above the Timberline — currently on display at the museum. Advance registration is required. $45 General, $35 members.

IMPROV COMEDY WORKSHOP: COLLABORATING IMAGINATION

Join the staff of CTV-192 for an improvisational comedy workshop. This hilarious group activity requires no experience, just enthusiasm! Learn about local TV and their community-building efforts, which lend themselves to this collaborative exercise. AEON RITUAL: A CONCERT MEETS A CEREMONY

This ecstatic, immersive musical performance occupies the space between concert and traditional religious or ceremonial rites. Developed by electro-acoustic collective Infinite Palette, Aeon Ritual features new work by ten celebrated modern musician-composers. PROFESSOR HAMISH LUTRIS: THE AMERICAN WEST
January 15th, 22nd & 29th, Tuesdays, 10 - 11:30AM

Acclaimed professor, Hamish Lutris, will be returning to Noble Horizons for three lectures in a series on the American West. On the 15th, you’ll explore the effects of the Civil War on the West, followed by a lesson on the dangerous period from the 1850s until the 1890s on January 22nd. He’ll conclude the series on January 29th with “Sodbusters and Colleges: The Winning of the West,” looking at the immigration, technologies and political actions that made possible the taming of the vast land we call the West. Free.
