STORIES IN SONG: NATALIA ZUKERMAN AND ANNE HEATON

Natalia Zukerman and Anne Heaton are both as much storytellers as they are singers and songwriters. In this multimedia evening, they will perform songs and stories excepted from Zukerman’s latest show, The Women Who Rode Away, and from Heaton’s upcoming album and storybook To The Light. Heaton, whose music has been described by The New York Times Music Podcast as “absolutely gorgeous” included a story for each track on her album describing the creative process and further connecting listeners to her music. $18

THE CASSATT STRING QUARTET: FRESH TAKES AND FESTIVE CLASSICS
December 6th, Friday, 7 - 9PM

The world-renowned Cassatt String Quartet is presenting world premieres of three composers at the Clark Art Institute—all of whom are Williams College faculty. Each piece is inspired by their favorite artwork in the Clark’s permanent collection. To conclude the evening, the quartet will perform festive music including Vivaldi’s Winter from the Four Seasons and selections from the holiday favorite The Nutcracker Suite by Tchaikovsky. $20 - 25.

OPEN MILL TOURS: AMERICAN MURAL PROJECT

For two days only, The American Mural Project invites you to their Open Mill events to see their current mural installation process. Once completed, likely in the next two years, the mural will be 120 feet long, five stories high and up to ten feet deep—making it the largest indoor collaborative artwork in the world. Take a tour for a first-hand sneak peek into the installation inspiration and the process. Suggested donation $5.

RAILROAD STREET YOUTH PROJECT: TASTING TALENT
December 7th, Saturday, 5:50PM

The Railroad Street Youth Project’s Culinary Arts Apprenticeship places student chefs with celebrated chefs in the Berkshires, including Brian Alberg of Main Street Hospitality Group, Marcos Gomes from The Tap House at Shaker Mill and Dan Smith from John Andrews Farmhouse restaurant. The program culminates in a five-course tasting menu at the Culinary Arts Apprenticeship Dinner where you can discover these up-and-coming chefs. $125 and up.

DANA COWIN: EVOLUTION OF FOOD CULTURE

Editor Emeritus of Food and Wine, Dana Cowin, is giving a talk on the rise of foodie culture in America—starting with the obsession with chefs in the 90s, moving through reality TV, ingredient trends and arriving more recently as a power for global change. She’ll interweave her own stories of launching now-famous chefs into the spotlight, her turns as a judge on Top Chef and her work to create a more equitable and inclusive food world. Free.
