ART WORKSHOPS: MAKING SMALL MOMENTS BIG
January 11th, Saturday, 1 - 4PM

Think of an impactful visual of an important, yet fleeting, moment in your life as you explore the art and technique of sequential visual storytelling with illustrator and educator Patrick O’Donnell. This is the first of a series of four drawing/mixed classes (you can participate in the single class or in all four), that encourage the use of multiple tools and materials to offer a dynamic portrait of a moment in time. Recommended for high school students and older. $30 per class.

SUSTAINABILITY WORKSHOPS: CURBING PLASTIC DEPENDENCY

Diane Decker and Carrie Rowe, co-presidents of Washington Environmental Council, will be leading a talk and discussion on positive actions people can take on the personal, local and state levels to help limit, and hopefully eliminate, their plastic dependency. SWING DANCE SATURDAYS: SOUTH STREET SWING

Get January off to a swinging start with dancing and live music from South Street Swing. Before the concert there will be a beginner’s swing dance lesson for you to learn a set or two or polish up your moves. South Street Swing is a collaboration between vocalist, fiddler and saxophonist, Maggie McRae, and jazz guitarist and vocalist, Mark Phillips. Offering revitalized takes on the great American songbook tunes from Billie Holiday and Frank Sinatra, they create memorable, foot-tapping musical experiences for modern and traditional listeners. $10 Students, $15 - 20.

COMEDY NIGHT!: MULTI-TALENTED DAVE HILL
January 11th, Saturday, 8 - 11PM

Comedian, writer, actor and musician, Dave Hill, has performed live comedy in theaters across the world and appeared on hit shows The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Inside Amy Schumer, and The Jim Gaffigan Show. This multi-talented man is also a regular contributor to public radio’s This American Life, has written for The New York Times and The Paris Review and has hosted his own podcasts So…You’re Canadian and History Fluffer. A song he recorded with his band, “Go,” is even the theme song for HBO’s Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. $20.
