BACH CELLO SUITES ON VIOLA: UNCOVERED GENIUS
September 20th, Sunday, 3:30 - 4:30PM
VIRTUAL

Performed by Ronald Gorevic, Simon's Rock violin and viola instructor and a frequent performer on campus, the concert will take place at the Kellog Music Center and stream live for the public. The performance consists of three Bach suites--almost unkonwn until they were revived in the 20th century by cellist Pablo Casals and which have now become the cornerstone of the cello repertory. They fit the viola perfectly which permits the dance rhythms that underlie most of the movements to emerge with greater clarity and incisiveness. Free.
