JULIA BLUE: STAND WITH UKRAINE
May 21st, Saturday, 11AM
Berkshire International Film Festival is hosting a screening of award-winning Ukrainian film Julia Blue, featured at the 2018 BIFF followed by a successful run on the festival circuit. Julia Blue is a modern love story set in post-revolutionary Ukraine about an idealistic student activist finding connection with a battered solider just home from the war. A beautiful allegory for the freedoms of our modern world that seem all too fleeting, the film reminds us not only of the costs of love and war but of the occasional painful choices freedom demands. Director Roxy Toporowych will do a Q&A after the screening and discuss how the cast, her family and friends are defending themselves during this terrible time. All proceeds from the event will go to Ukraine relief organizations. $15.
Triplex Cinema. 70 Railroad Street. Great Barrington MA. 413.528.8885.
