LAST OF THE FRENCH IMPRESSIONISTS: ARMAND GUILLAUMIN
VIRTUAL
September 28th, Wednesday, 2PM
Enjoy a fun and informative talk with art historian Mike Norris as he takes a tour of the life of the Last of the French Impressionists, highlighting artist Armand Guillaumin. Most of his life Guillaumin had to wait for vacations from his various jobs to work on his art but that changed after he won a big lottery prize in 1891, allowing him to pursue his passion full time. Early on, he mostly painted landscapes but, with friends including the Impressionists Edgar Degas and Claude Monet and the Postimpressionists Paul Gauguin and Vincent van Gogh, his style evolved considerably while always remaining vigorous, with vivid colors. Free.
