TWAS THE NIGHT: THE ART AND HISTORY OF THE CLASSIC CHRISTMAS POEM

Celebrate the bicentennial of the beloved American poem ’Twas the Night Before Christmas with the release of a new book. Come meet Pamela McColl, the author of T’was the Night: The Art and History of the Classic Christmas Poem, during the Berkshire Museum’s Winter Fest. Pamela will read aloud Clement Moore’s timeless poem with a passage from her own book and participate in a Q&A. Free with museum admission.

TLI CHAMBER CONCERT: MUSICIANS FROM CASTLE OF OUR SKINS

Castle of our Skins is a Black arts institution dedicated to fostering cultural curiosity and celebrating Black artistry through music. This Tanglewood Learning Institute concert reflects this mission with a program that includes Tania Leon’s Oh Yemanja for voice, cello and piano, Smith Moore’s Afro-American Suite for flute, cello and piano and Daniel Bernard Roumain’s Relentless for voice, flute, cello and piano. The performance will feature soprano Brianna J. Robinson, DeShaun Gordon-King on flute, Francesca McNeeley on cello and David Coleman on piano. $25.

LENOX WINTERLAND: THE JOLLY POKER 5K RUN AND RESTAURANT WALK

Jolly Poker Run/Walk: December 3rd, Saturday, 10AM
Restaurant Walk: December 3rd, Saturday, 5:30 - 7:30PM
Join in for the 2nd Annual Jolly Poker Run to raise money for Berkshire Bounty—an organization that supplies food to local pantries and individual homes in need throughout Berkshire County. You can participate in a 5K race or 2 mile walk with a fun poker twist: you’ll stop at stations along the way to get a playing card and the participant with the best hand wins a prize. Later that evening you can collect playing cards at participating restaurants throughout Lenox and have signature cocktails/mocktails and appetizers along the way. The night concludes at Olde Heritage Tavern where you’ll find out who has the winning hand and enjoy a performance by Cantilena Choir. Run/Walk: $10 - 20. Restaurant Walk: $25.
