WEST STOCKBRIDGE SPARKLES: LIGHTING A TREE AND A TOWN
December 1st, Friday 4-8PM, Throughout the town

With some of New England’s most classic charm, West Stockbridge has maintained its small-town integrity and has remained home to many buildings and shops of previous centuries. Entering the town harkens back to a time when shopping “local” and “small” were more than novelties, and luckily that has been preserved at West Stockbridge’s century-old Baldwin’s Extracts, coffee producer No. Six Depot and at Flourish Market, where antique and vintage American furniture is given new life. Flourish Market’s holiday decor could transport you straight to the North Pole, but you’ll be able to stay warm with the hot cocoa and inviting atmosphere as the store also celebrates its 2nd birthday!

RAILROAD STREET YOUTH PROJECT CULINARY ARTS DINNER
December 4th, Monday 4-5:30PM

One of the most inspiring and effective initiatives I have seen in action is the Railroad Street Youth Project’s Apprenticeship Program. The program matches unmet vocational and educational needs of South Berkshire youth and prepares them for the workplace which, in many cases, leads directly to a job. In RSYP’s signature Culinary Arts Apprenticeship program, students spend two months honing the skills necessary for working in award winning kitchens with local standout chefs Brian Alberg of Main Street Hospitality Group, Dan Smith of John Andrews and Adam Brassard of The Red Lion Inn. At this incredible dinner, our budding young chefs work with their mentor chefs to design, prep and present a gourmet tasting menu showcasing everything they have learned to family, friends and the community. $125 Individual Ticket

BLACK AND WHITE TRUFFLE DINNER
December 7th, Thursday 6PM

Nothing exudes indulgence quite like the fragrant flavors and aromas of black and white truffles, especially when paired perfectly with Italian wines. At the peak of their season, Northern Italy’s most luxurious and rare ingredient has been unearthed to adorn the plates of festive and rich seasonal cuisine at the Culinary Institute of America’s Ristorante Caterina de’ Medici. This five-course menu will showcase the truffles in traditional applications like Steak Tartare and a Pappardelle with Wild Mushroom Ragu, and more modern interpretations like the White Truffle White Chocolate Semifreddo served for dessert. Reservations can be made on OpenTable or by calling. While you’re on the website make sure to check out their upcoming classes that are 20% off right now! $175 for dinner, including wine.

I humbly acknowledge that I do not possess the linguistic dexterity to sufficiently communicate the cultural/social/artistic significance and emotional resonance of Annie Leibowitz and her photography. That being said, Oblong Books in Rhinebeck New York is offering the opportunity to meet one of the world’s favorite talents and have her sign a copy of her new book. Tickets can be purchased online and include one copy of Annie Leibovitz: Portraits 2005-2016 and admission for two persons. $89.95.
