AUTHOR TALK WITH SIMON WINCHESTER:
PRECISION AND PROGRESS

June 29th, Friday, 7:15 - 8:15PM

Simon Winchester—New York Times bestselling author—tackles an enormous question is his newest work, The Perfectionists: How Precision Engineers Created the Modern World. Winchester traces the development of technology from the Industrial Age to the Digital Age through the notion of “precision,” thoughtfully toeing the line of homage to our history and concerns for our future. Come and ask as many questions you can—if there’s anyone to help us learn from our past, it’s the journalist who experienced Bloody Sunday from Ireland, a Watergate-flooded D.C., the Soviet-backed coup in Afghanistan and the trials of bee-keeping. Did I not mention he’s also a resident of the Berkshires? Free.
