Watching a Dorrance Dance performance on YouTube has you on the edge of your seat, just like watching the last few minutes of the World Cup from your sofa. Michelle Dorrance, a Jacob’s Pillow Dance Award Winner, MacArthur Genius Fellow and festival fan-favorite, returns with her iconic tap troupe for the fifth time in six years. They will be performing their newest, groundbreaking work, Myelination, featuring an original live score with live vocals from eclectic soul vocalist Aaron Marcellus. FINE WOODWORKING SHOW: MASTER CLASS
July 21st - 22nd, Saturday - Sunday, 9AM - 5PM

Riving and Turning. No, it’s not the name of the newest Top 10 album or a dance performance at the Pillow, but it is just as impressive. They’re just two of the master skills that the members of the Berkshires Woodworkers Guild will be showing off at their Annual Fine Arts Show and Silent Auction. Come see these artists, artisans, craftsmen, craftswomen and more demonstrate these exceptionally difficult techniques and talk about their handmade creations from furniture to musical instruments. If you’re lucky enough, you just might be able to bring some of this artistry home. $5

MIDSUMMER COCKTAIL PARTY: A WAM BENEFIT
July 25th, Wednesday, 5:30PM

WAM Theatre (or Where Arts & Activism Meet) is at its core, philanthropic, using theatre to help create opportunities for women and girls. WAM is meanwhile, producing some of the most exceptional theatre there is in this area. Their magical midsummer’s night’s cocktail party includes delicious food, live music and stellar entertainment with an exclusive premiere performance of a play devised by their 2018 Girls Ensemble cohort—a performance group for young women ages 13-18. This innovative organization simultaneously creates community by bringing audiences together, highlights stories of women and girls calling attention to many important issues and gives a portion of their proceeds to organizations that benefit women and girls locally and worldwide. $75 - $250
The Berkshire Equestrian Center. 40 Perry Peak Road. Richmond MA. 413.274.8122

HARRY POTTER AND THE SCIENCE WIZARD
July 25th, Wednesday, 7PM

Have a Harry Potter fan among you who would love to taste dry ice Butterbeer or participate in a Bertie Botts Every Flavor Bean Challenge? What about getting sorted into one of the four Hogworts’ houses using chemistry? Mad Science—a worldwide science enrichment program—will be teaching some wizard science in an unforgettable day of magic and learning. Suitable for ages 6-11, but I would certainly volunteer yourself to be the supervisor for this one.
Harwinton Public Library. 80 Bentley Drive. Harwinton CT. 860.485.9113
