Take the High Road

Berkshire Natural Resources Council will mark its 50th anniversary year in 2017 with a series of special hikes and walks as well as a community celebration in September, all of which are free and open to the public.

The conservation organization also plans to mark its anniversary with the completion of a $5 million capital campaign to launch the Berkshire High Road, a long-range vision for a countywide trail network linking conservation to communities.

Planned events for the celebration include five guided walks with refreshments and expert leaders, the first of which will be offered this Saturday, 2-6PM on BNRC lands on the Hoosac Range in North Adams MA. The pace will be easy over moderate terrain.

Participants will be introduced to the Range in a new way and will learn the basics of nature journaling with art instructor Jennifer Lovett. All skill levels are welcome.

BNRC will provide some refreshments along the way, and guide the walk. BNRC will also provide basic paper and pencils but participants are welcome to bring colored pencils or other drawing materials. Cameras are also welcome if that is the preferred medium.

Children can participate.

There is no charge for this event but attendance is limited. To register and for information about other events planned for the summer, please click on the link below.
