Bantam Cinema

Independently-owned movie theaters are widely supported in our region. More than ever, filmgoers are eschewing the big chain theaters for The Moviehouse in Millerton, Triplex in Great Barrington or Upstate Films in Rhinebeck.

Another favorite of ours is Bantam Cinema, opened in 1927 and very structurally unique; the building looks like a barn, when it actuality it has two screens with state-of-art digital systems.

The film selection is diverse; big Hollywood hits, indie fare, foreign, domestic and black-and-white always played on screens totally modernized sound and projection systems.

As the cold weather sets in, the Bantam Cinema is a great night (or matinee!) to nestle with popcorn and catch a film.
