Boogaloo on Bee Brook
Greenwoods Counseling & Referrals has a very serious mission—helping those suffering from anxiety, depression and alcohol or drug dependence find the support they need. But this weekend it’s all fun for Greenwoods as it throws its annual gala, “Boogaloo on Bee Brook,” at Spring Hill Vineyards in Washington CT.
The annual benefit which will be held Saturday, May 17th from 6 to 8:30PM, is a critical source of funding for the comprehensive mental healthcare service.
This year Northwest Connecticut Community Foundation’s Julie Sharnberg, who works with community collaboratives centered issues such as homelessness and affordable housing, food insecurity, substance-use disorders and the Northwest Regional Early Childhood Alliance, will receive the fourth annual Jane L. Havemeyer Award.
Scharnberg’s work reflects the spirit of Havemeyer who, prior to her death in 2021, co- founded, led and served as a board member on a never-ending list of organizations, continuing the fight for women's health, community development, education, the arts and public gardens.
The “Boogaloo on Bee Brook” cocktail party features a raw bar by To the Gills and Cheese and charcuterie by New Curds on the Block. It starts with soft jazz and will ramp up to dance music by Hush Nosferatu, produced by Marc Wager of Roxbury Station Studios.
Ticket prices range from $150 for a single Friend of Greenwoods ticket up to $10,000 for admission to the Leadership Circle which includes eight tickets to the event, VIP parking on-site, prime signage at the event and listing on promotional materials. To purchase tickets, click om the link below.
