Corona Closings
This week’s Our Favorite Thing is hardly our favorite. But it is life as we are living it to try to suppress the Covid-19 virus. Here is a listing of the things you will not be doing in the next two weeks.
MUSEUMS and GALLERIES
Clark Art Institute in Williamstown MA has canceled events through April 30th. Its galleries are closed. The 140-acre campus and walking trails remain open.
Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge MA is closed to the public through April 1st, when it will reevaluate the situation.
Berkshire Museum in Pittsfield MA has closed its doors through March 29th. All events and programming will be suspended during this time.
MASS MoCA museum galleries in North Adams MA are closed until March 31st.
The Trustees of Reservations have canceled all indoor programs and historic house tours until March 31st. Many outdoor programs will still be held. Outdoor properties with gates are now open for free admission to minimize contact with staff. Self-pay parking kiosks are still operational and fees will help during this time of lost revenue.
The FDR Library and Museum in Hyde Park is closed until further notice.
Five Points Gallery in Torrington will be closed until April 2nd.
PERFORMANCES and MUSIC
White Hart Speakers Series on March 19 in Salisbury is postponed.
Crescendo is postponing its upcoming March and April concerts.
Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center in Great Barrington MA has canceled all events through April 10th.
Boston Symphony Orchestra is canceling all performances at the Linde Center at Tanglewood in Lenox MA through March 28th.
Hudson Hall in Hudson NY is suspending all activities involving large gatherings including performances, opening receptions, and youth and community workshops. Current and scheduled exhibitions will be open as planned.
Helsinki Hudson in Hudson NY has closed the doors to the restaurant, nightclub and special events.
Dewey Hall in Sheffield MA and its partners have canceled events through April 9th.
The Berkshire Bach Society has canceled its March 21st Bach’s Birthday Bash at The White Hart Inn in Salisbury CT.
Jazz and Classics for Change cancelled the jazz concert scheduled for March 28th at St. James Place, Great Barrington MA.
Stockbridge Library’s Chamber Concert March 21st Series Final Concert is postponed.
Violin and piano recital by Francesca Anderegg and Matthew McCright on March 28 at Bard College at Simon’s Rock in Great Barrington MA is canceled.
South Berkshire Concerts April 19th piano concert at Simon’s Rock in Great Barrington MA is canceled.
Infinity Music Hall & Bistro in Norfolk will reschedule all of its shows scheduled before April 15th.
Warner Theatre in Torrington CT is cancelling programs through April 30th.
Millbrook (NY) Library, was remaining open as of Sunday but is disinfecting all surfaces.
LIBRARIES
Norfolk Library has cancelled or postponed programs through March 29th
Kent Library is closed until further notice.
Cornwall Library closed at least through March 31st.
Salisbury Library is closed until March 31st.
Hotchkiss Library, Sharon, is closed until further notice.
D.M. Hunt Library in Falls Village has cancelled public programs but remains open.
Great Barrington Library remains open.
Lee Library is closed through March 21st, possibly longer. Late fees waived during this time.
Chatham (NY) Library has canceled all programs until further notice.
NorthEast Library in Millerton NY closed indefinitely
NATURE CENTERS
Mass Audubon has canceled March programs.
Berkshire Botanical Garden has cancelled all education classes, lectures, workshops and off-site visits through April 15th.
Mount Greylock State Reservation Visitor Center is closed through April 1st.
Beartown State Forest Campground is closed through April 1st.
Maplefest at Hopkins Memorial Forest, Williamstown, Mass., canceled.
Berkshire Grown has canceled the March 21st Great Barrington indoor farmers market.
The 2020 WMMGA Berkshire Spring Gardening Symposium, scheduled for March 28th at Lennox High, has been canceled.
