Tango Passion Meets Baroque Brilliance

Crescendo’s Dramatic Conclusion to the 22nd Season

Crescendo, the award winning Lakeville-based organization specializing in early and rarely performed classical music, will close its 22nd season with a slate of spring concerts featuring international performers, local musicians and works by pioneering composers from the Baroque era to the 21st century.

Crescendo’s director Christine Gevert remarks: “The biggest event is our April 25-26 concerts with the US premiere of two tango-inspired works: A Jewish Cantata and the iconic Misa a Buenos Aires in which the internationally renowned Argentine composer Martín Palmeri, will share the podium with me.”

March 7-8 concerts open the season, showcasing the works of a trailblazing female musical innovator, Francesca Caccini, the early Baroque composer, poet and singer. Two more productions, J.S. Bach’s Motets on May 30-31, and a harpsichord recital in tribute of Wanda Landowska on June 13 rounds the season out.
