Dog Days of Summer

The beautiful Berkshire Botanical Gardens will go to the dogs for a whole day Sunday,10AM to 4PM, when it celebrates the Dog Days of Summer.

Dog lovers are invited to bring their favorite companions for a full day of activities. They can meet other dog lovers, tour the garden, sit for family photos, lie under the trees and even stay for treats—including pup-friendly ice cream.

There will be activities for both canines and their families, including dog-related workshops, vendors and demonstrations. Dog pools will be located throughout the garden and there will be photo opportunities to document your day at BBG.

Food will be provided by Main Street Hospitality with additional beverages from Barrington Brewery. The first 100 dogs to be admitted to the garden receive a Tito’s Vodka bandana;npromotional items and waste bags will be provided by Earth Rated.

Workshops about canine health and safety are scheduled throughout the day including “Garden Dangers for Your Dog” at PM, led by Chris Ferraro from the Cooperative Extension, and “Dog Preventative Health Care,” facilitated by Jim Helems of Dog Pals at noon. Animal Communication with Linda Clayton will be held at 1:45PM.

In addition, there will be a presentation by Canine Link Therapy Dogs at 11:15AM will explore how to evaluate a potential therapy dog and one on “Nose Work” at 2:30 New Energy in Falls Village | Berkshire StylePM by Adrienne DeBlieux, Berkshire Humane Society.

Demonstrations include park our agility and obstacles led by Jim Helems, set for 10:30AM, frisbee activities at 3:15PM by Sharon Lynch and a presentation by the Massachusetts State Police K9 unit.

Admission is $15 and is free for Garden members. A $5 per dog entry fee will be donated to the Berkshire Humane Society. All dogs must be registered, up to date on vaccinations and kept on a non-retractable leash.
