Dog Days of Summer

The lives of American dogs are often pretty luxurious and the pampered pooches will have little to complain about Sunday, August 20th, when Berkshire Botanical Garden brings back its popular Dog Days of Summer event.

The Garden is partnering with the Berkshire Humane Society for a full day of canine fun, 10AM-4PM. The event offers activities for both canines and their families, including dog-related workshops, vendors, demonstrations and a dog pool party.

The first 100 dogs admitted will receive a Tito’s bandana provided by Tito’s Handmade Vodka, non-retractable leashes provided by Benson's Pet Center, waste bags and natural biscuits provided by Chez Pet.

Their human companions can enjoy fresh hot dogs from Stylin' Franks, available for purchase, and refreshments will be provided by BBG.

Admission is $18 for non-members and free for BBG members. An additional $5 per dog will be donated to the Berkshire Humane Society. All dogs must be registered, up to date on vaccinations and kept on a six-foot non-retractable leash.

Pet owners are responsible for their dog’s actions and behavior and the animals must be supervised at all times by a person 18 years or older. Children under the age of eighteen must be accompanied by an adult. No more than one dog per adult is permitted in the garden at a time.
