Ghostly Tours
At Venfort Hall
Robert Oakes, author of Ghosts of the Berkshires, will again offer visitors to Ventfort Hall an introduction to the haunting spirits that are said to occupy the Gilded Age mansion.
Oakes will lead visitors through the rooms and halls of this historic estate sharing tales of its spirit occupants, ushering them to places where eerie encounters have occurred and presenting accounts of those who experienced them first-hand. Perhaps the very sensitive will even experience something unusual themselves.
This will not, however, be not an active investigation.
Oakes is an author, teacher, storyteller and singer/songwriter who currently lives in the Berkshires. Since 2010 he has led the ghost tours at Edith Wharton's The Mount and has represented the Ventfort Hall Museum and its ghosts on Syfy’s Ghost Hunters, Jeff Belanger’s New England Legends series on PBS, and The Apple Seed show on BYUradio. In 2020, his debut book, Ghosts of the Berkshires, was published by Arcadia Publishing and is on sale now in the museum’s gift shop.
