HUDSON HALL JAZZ: MASTERCLASS AND MASTER PERFORMANCE
August 9th, Sunday, 10:30AM and 4PM

Upstate jazz-hungry fans can satiate their appetite by tuning into a live-streamed masterclass, followed by a live-streamed concert. The full 14th Annual Hudson Jazz Workshop includes a weekend of masterclasses, forums and workshops for selected composers and musicians from around the globe. The weekend culminates with two events open to the public—watching artists hone their craft in a live-streamed masterclass with bassist Jay Anderson followed by an Online Concert streamed live from Hudson Hall featuring Anderson, Jazzworks co-directors, pianist Armen Donelian and saxophonist Marc Mommas, and workshop participants. Free.

HOUSATONIC EVENING PADDLE: MAKING WAVES
August 6th, Thursday, 6 - 8:30PM

Evening is the perfect time to look for wildlife as everyone prepares to settle in for the evening. Explore the rich wetlands of the Housatonic Valley Wildlife Management Area in the hours before dusk during a leisurely canoe trip. You’ll find a cove to enjoy refreshments while listening and watching for wildlife. Possible sightings include kingfishers, herons, muskrats, beavers and much more! Suitable for children aged 10 and over. $35 Members, $45 Non-members.

PS21 CHATHAM PATHWAYS: BLAZING TRAILS TO A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE
August 6th - 8th, Thursday - Saturday, days and times vary

PS21 celebrates its new network of walking trails by offering a wide variety of free public programs. Bringing artists and the community together, these events are designed for creative explorations of the landscape extending from PS21’s 100 acres of orchards, meadows and woodlands. Featured events include Thursday’s performance, Follow Me Into the Field!, a site-specific environmental adaptation of Ten Thousand Birds where instrumental sounds will commingle with the calls of wildlife and the rustling leaves. For children (and adults!), StoryWalk is an innovative self-guided outdoor reading adventure wherein the story unfolds as you walk along the trails. Free.

WILLIAMSTOWN THEATRE FESTIVAL: PASS THE MIC
August 7th, Friday, 5 - 6:30PM

Join into Williamstown Theatre Festival’s Pass the Mic, where Tony Award-winning set and costume designer Clint Ramos will host a panel on Dismantling White Supremacy and Patriarchy: BIPOC Artists Reflect on the BIPOC Demands for the American Theatre. He will be joined by artists/activists from The BIPOC Project which supports black, indigenous and people of color, including Eisa Davis—Obie Award-Winning Performer and Pulitzer-Prize nominated playwright—and Dominque Morisseau—Tony Award-nominated playwright, recipient of the MacArthur Genius Grant and creator of last fall’s poignant and acclaimed Berkshire production, Pipeline. The panel will be live-streamed on Facebook Live.

SUMMER MUSINGS: DISCOVERING THE LANDSCAPE AT CHESTERWOOD

Join creative visionary, traveler and author, Amber Chand, for a 3-part series in which you will be thoughtfully guided on a reflective journey as you explore the grounds of Chesterwood—home to famed Lincoln Memorial sculptor Daniel Chester French. The contemplative beauty of the property, with its pavilions, flowering pathways and sweeping vistas has inspired myriad writers, artists and poets and serves as the perfect setting for you to journey inward. Each session begins with a musing and guided meditation before you immerse yourself in the landscape continuing your exploration with a sketchbook or journal in hand. $90 for 3 sessions.
