WILLA CATHER: HER LIFE & LOVES
IN PERSON & VIRTUAL
March 30th, Thursday, 7 - 8PM
Join the Oliver Wolcott Library to celebrate Willa Cather’s 150th with an exciting performance from actress Prudence Wright Holmes. Holmes’ delightfully dramatic, comedic, and compelling one-woman performance weaves the personal and intimate story behind Willa Cather, one of the foremost female writers of the 20th century. In the late 1800s, Cather astounded her Nebraska neighbors with her brilliant mind and unconventional behavior. Despite her success, her romantic life was fraught with conflict. Holmes reveals how Cather’s work became her refuge, helping her to transcend the problems with astonishing results, including timeless classics like My Antonia that continue to be read today. Free.
