SHAKE IT UP: A SHAKESPEARE CABARET

July at Shakespeare & Co starts with the reprise of Shake It Up: A Shakespeare Cabaret, co-created by Jacob Ming-Trent and Shakespeare & Company Creative Director Allyn Burrows with Burrows directing the production. This mash-up of modern music and Shakespeare verse invites audiences to stamp to the beat, sing along or dance in the aisles as the players take them on a breathless, rocking revue. Don’t miss this limited, six-show run at the peak of the summer! $22 - $65.

OUT OF CHARACTER: IDENTITY AND SELF-ACCEPTANCE

EVENING PADDLE ON THE HOUSATONIC RIVER
July 3rd, Thursday, 5PM - 7:30PM
The evening is a great time to look for wildlife. Explore the rich wetlands of the Housatonic Valley Wildlife Management Area at a leisurely pace in the hours before dusk. After paddling a short distance, the group will find a cove to pause and enjoy listening and watching for wildlife. Kingfishers, herons, muskrats, beavers, and other wildlife are all possible sightings. $55 - $75.

NORFOLK CHAMBER MUSIC FESTIVAL: OPENING WEEKEND

This summer Norfolk Chamber Music Festival opens with a unique way to celebrate the spirit of Independence Day—with a vibrant concert honoring the rich tapestry of American music. This program captures the creativity, diversity, and enduring beauty of our nation’s musical heritage, including Copland’s Appalachian Spring. Saturday’s concert features The Brentano Quartet in a program of quartet works by Schubert, Webern, and Beethoven. SUMMER AUTHOR SERIES: MICHELLE YOUNG’S THE ART SPY
