PUTTIN’ ON THE RITZ: FIGURE DRAWING WORKSHOP

Join artist Warren Prindle for a drawing workshop with a professional model dressed as a Jazz Age flapper. Through guided exercises, you’ll learn about proportions, expressive gestures and the rhythmic flow of the human form. You’ll begin by starting loose, building structure then bringing your drawing to life. No drawing experience is required! $20 plus Museum Admission.

BUILDING A NEST BOX: CAVITY-NESTING BIRDS

In this hands-on workshop, you'll build your own nest box to take home and learn the best location to attract cavity-nesting birds during the breeding season! Learn the local birds who rely on cavities to build their nests—including Eastern Bluebirds, House Wrens, Black-capped Chickadees and Tufted Titmice. Then step outside to observe nest boxes in the nearby meadow. $45 - $60.

Juliet Izon’s The Encore is a captivating journey of love, sacrifice and destiny playing out in the world of music. In 2003 at the prestigious Brookfield Conservatory, a chance encounter sparks a friendship between driven pianist and singer Anna Buckley and composer wunderkind Will Pendleton. As they strive to build careers as musicians, their bond deepens from shared skill and the sense they’re kindred souls. Soon after graduation, one night forever alters the trajectory of their lives, destroying their relationship in the process. Writer and award-winning cartoonist with The New Yorker Magazine, Liza Donnelly, will interview Izon, to discuss her debut novel, her career and her writing process. Free.
