COMING BACK LIKE A SONG!: CARRYING OLD TUNES

Come enjoy the world premier of Emmy Award-winner Lee Kalcheim’s delightful Coming Back Like a Song! directed by Tony-award nominee Gregg Edelman (City of Angels, 1776, Into the Woods and Berkshire Theatre Group’s own Arsenic and Old Lace). Set on Christmas Eve in New York City, the story follows three old friends and music icons, Irving Berlin, Harold Arlen and Jimmy Van Heusen as they drink, fight and sing in what is the twilight of their careers. The musical pays tribute to these three artists, performing their classic hit tunes that include Berlin’s Cheek to Cheek, Always, Arlen’s Over the Rainbow and The Man That Got Away, and Van Heusen’s Swingin’ On a Star and All The Way. $66

GLOW BALL MINI GOLF

The whole family is invited to a glow-in-the-dark miniature golf evening to benefit the Berkshire Humane Society! Now an after hours event, new LED glowing golf balls (which players will get to keep after the game) light the way to par. Players will tee off between 8:45 and 10:15 PM. $10.

COLORING PARTY: MEDITATIVE MOMENTS

Join artist Emily Ritz for an evening encouraging creativity and reflection through mindfully coloring “otherworldly landscapes of lumps” and enjoying live instrumental music in the background. Using illustration to gather inspiration for all of her creative endeavors, Emily hopes to help participants stimulate their own imagination and some peace-of-mind. Mozart—a genius of the Classical period epitomizing elegance and symmetry. Debussy—an avant-garde artist of the early 20th century introducing new notions of color and sound in music. And, while not typically associated with one another, this faculty artist performance highlights the individual sensuality that permeates each composer’s work. Attend the free Pre-Concert Conversation with Paul Berry to engage in a dialogue about these seemingly uncorrelated composer and the underlying themes that connect them. $20 - 60 for Adults, $10 Young Adults 18-25 and free for kids under 18!

FAMILY BRUNCH AND LEARN: BOATS & CRAFTS
July 14th, Saturday, 10AM - 12PM

The Mattatuck Museum is hosting a “Family Brunch & Learn” focused on early adventures and exploration. Enjoy this fun-filled morning learning about navigational exploring techniques and crafting mini boats. Those aged 10+ will learn to hand carve their own boat out of wood with teaching artist Reinaldo Cruz, while the younger kids build small boats out of recycled materials. As the name suggests, a light brunch is included and some imaginative fun abounds. $10 General, $5 Members.
