At Lime Rock
The 43rd Lime Rock Historic Festival returns to the venerable racing venue on Labor Day weekend with a three-day extravaganza that includes a 17-mile Vintage Race Car and Sports Car Parade on Thursday.
The Historic Festival parade departis from Lime Rock Park at 5 PM and tours through area towns, concluding in Falls Village with a street fair. It is open to two-door vehicles older than 1975 and race cars.
Friday, Saturday and Monday feature on-track competitions with classes ranging from pre-war, open-wheel cars to the sports and formula cars of the postwar era.
Featured race groups include Toyo Tires’ Turn of the Century World Challenge, which debuts production-based street stock race cars from the 1995-2005 era; the all-Triumph Kastner Cup, a major racing event on the calendar of all British vintage car fans and the Del Monte Trophy group, when a fleet of historic cars that once raced on the Monterey Peninsula will compete against their East Coast counterparts.
Sunday, the track’s quiet day, will still bring excitement for car enthusiasts with the Lime Rock Concours and the Gathering of the Marques, displaying nearly 1,000 cars and motorcycles around the Lime Rock circuit There’s also a swap meet, automobilia, featured speakers, concessions and more to enjoy.
