Improv under Hypnosis

Check your inhibitions at the door. HYPROV (Improv under Hypnosis) is taking the stage again Saturday, April 5th, at 7:30PM at the Colonial Theatre with its unique blend of hypnosis and improvisation.

This 90-minute experience begins with hypnotist Asad Mecci inviting 20 audience volunteers on stage to be hypnotized. They then join improv actor Colin Mochrie in creating an unscripted comedy that evolves entirely from the volunteers’ uninhibited minds and audience suggestions. Participation is completely voluntary

The show has already completed a 100-city tour, a 70-show run Off-Broadway and a six-month residency in Las Vegas.

Colin Mochrie is a prolific Scottish-born improviser who gained fame as a regular on the British TV show Whose Line Is It, Anyway? He continued his success on the U.S. version and on the current revival on the CW Network.

Hypnotist Asad Mecci’s earned an honors degree in commerce from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, before starting his career as a hypnotist in 1998. Mecci began performing his solo act, Hypnohype, at colleges and universities across North America later expanding his reach to include cruise lines such as Carnival, Celebrity and Disney.

The Colonial Theatre is located 111 South Street in Pittsfield MA; 413-997-4444.
