Memorial Weekend * Lime Rock Park

Memorial Day racing at Lime Rock Park has been a tradition for more than six decades but it is a tradition that has evolved and changed with the years. This year the Pirelli World Challenge Grand Prix takes to the track May 25, 26 and 28, with Sunday, May 27th, a day of quiet for the neighborhood, giving car enthusiasts a chance to admire 300 collector cars in the ninth annual Sunday Royals Car Show.

A picnic lunch will also be offered that day for a culinary adventure. Picnic tables will be arrayed right on the track’s front straight for a family-style feast of favorites sourced from farms found within a 100-mile radius from the track. Picnickers will dine among the collector cars on display. Team members and drivers present for the Pirelli World Challenge will also attend.

The menu includes Hosmer Mountain Soda-glazed pork ribs, steaks rubbed with Irving Farms Coffee and Crown Maple Syrup and Whippoorwill Farm organic beef sliders topped with Arethusa Farm blue cheese.

Admission to the Sunday Royals Car Show is included in the Farm-to-Table Feast ticket. Tickets are $45 in advance ($55 at the door). Tickets for tables of six are $225.

In addition to dining al fresco among the cars, fans will enjoy four days of events this Memorial Day Weekend including practices and qualifying on Friday, May 25th; racing on Saturday, May 26th; the car show on Sunday, May 27th; and continued racing on Monday, May 28th. The last time auto races occurred on Memorial Day Monday was in 2011.

The PWC on Memorial Day Weekend comprises one-hour, door-to-door sprint-styled races in various GT (grand tourer) and TC (touring car) categories.

The historic automotive and entertainment venue is located at 60 White Hollow Road in Lakeville. Visit the link below for more information.
