McTeigue & McClelland

Christmas shoppers will be both happy and sad this year to hear that after 22 years of exclusive service to the region, Great Barrington jeweler McTeigue & McClelland is to close its Great Barrington studio and showroom in early January. An inventory reduction sale began Monday offering the firm’s exquisite jewelry at 15 to 35 percent off.

Just before the announced Barneys New York store closings, the partners were able to recapture the inventory they had placed with there and have included it in the sale. Availability is limited.

For more than two decades, the firm has emphasized groundbreaking design, exceptional gemstones and superior craftsmanship, blending Walter McTeigue’s diamond and gemstone expertise with the creativity of his friend, artist and master jeweler Tim McClelland.

McTeigue, a fourth-generation jeweler, said the sale acknowledges, “… our long tradition and the loyalty of our customers.”

“From the moment we met in a New York elevator many years ago,” added Tim McClelland, “we knew we shared a vision for the unique, the beautiful and beautifully crafted jewelry. As we move on to the next phases of our lives and careers, we want to make sure our customers have access to the results of that vision … our complete collection.”

The McTeigue & McClelland atelier is located at 454 Main Street in Great Barrington at the crossroads of routes 7 and 23. The liquidation sale continues until everything is sold. The store will be open every day until Christmas, 10AM to 6PM, closing early on Christmas Eve.
