Monterey General Store
Now that the weather is (finally) feeling like Spring, we encourage you to go for a drive. And may your destination be The Monterey General Store.
You will know you're in Monterey almost immediately- the town exudes relaxed charm and the general store, a keystone of the village, is no different. Housed in an impressive post and beam building that dates back to 1780, the store offers specialty items and artisan crafts you would come to expect from a charming storefront in addition to pastries, cheeses, prepared foods, fresh-baked goods and a quick cup of coffee.
It really shines with breakfast and lunch. Offerings include classic breakfast fare and lunchtime sandwiches made with smoked salmon, pate or brie. The dining area is comfortable and lets the guests enjoy the quiet surroundings and the views of The Konkapot River.
What really sets The Monterey General Store apart from many other busy Berkshire food spots is the always attentive staff, who will assure you walk out happy, relaxed and usually with a few cups of coffee in you.
