Nightwood

At the Mount

Nightwood, an immersive sound and light experience set against the backdrop of author Edith Wharton’s historic home, opens to the public Friday November 17th and continues through Saturday January 6th.

Visitors can wander along the illuminated three-quarter mile route through woods and gardens for an ethereal experience.

Creative Director and Lighting Designer Chris Bocchiaro, a New York-based lighting designer passionate about movement theatre, opera and the synthesis of old and new technologies, specializes in dynamic lighting systems for facades, infrastructure and public art. He has worked in collaboration with a team of lighting and audio experts to create an enchanted landscape.

While the experience is suitable for all ages, uneven terrain and stairs makes accessibility limited. It is not walker, stroller or wheelchair accessible although golf cart rides are available on certain days. To book those, or for other questions about accessibility, call 413-551-5100.

NightWood will be canceled in the event of unsafe or extreme weather conditions. In the event of cancellation, full refunds will be offered. Those attending should dress for the weather as trails may be muddy or icy at times.

Dates and times sell out; advanced purchase of timed-entry tickets is strongly encouraged.

Admission begins at 5PM. Plan on arriving at or before your reservation time. No one will be allowed into the show after 7:45PM.
