Pints for Paws
Beacon of Light, a new animal rescue formed in New Hartford just this year, will hold Pints for Paws, a fun-filled fundraising afternoon on Saturday, June 29th, 1-5PM at the Little Red Barn Brewers, 32 Lake Street, Winsted CT.
There will be live music by Potters Field, food, raffle prizes and Beacon of Light Animal Rescue (BOLAR) merchandise for sale, including pint glasses, baseball hats, Koozies, t-shirts and hoodies.
Tickets are available online so participants don’t have to attend in person to support the mission. There is also a button to donate.
Tickets are $25. All proceeds help the animals.
Beacon of Light Animal Rescue, Inc. (BOLAR) was founded by Barkhamsted residents Lisa Marecki and Megan Keefe in March. They have been involved in all aspects of pet rescue including donating, networking, locating adopters and fosters and supporting fundraising for several other animal shelters for many years and have witnessed firsthand the urgent need of placing a growing supply of animals in homes.
Megan Keefe, co-founder of BOLAR, said, “We decided to put our ‘bark where our bite is’ and start our own animal rescue organization. Naturally our mission is to encourage adoptions but, if that’s not possible, foster; if that’s not possible, sponsor; if that’s not possible, volunteer, and if that’s not possible, donate. Basically, everyone can do something to help the plight of our furry friends.”
The new rescue wants to assist the community and will help provide resources and education to rescue, spay and neuter and find loving homes for local kittens and cats. It will continue its mission to rescue and rehome dogs in Connecticut and Texas.
