Waldo's Back But Where?

In Washington Depot

Where’s Waldo? We know this much—he’s in Washington Depot. But the rest of finding him is up to you.

Beginning Saturday, the iconic children’s book character in the red-and-white-striped shirt and black-rimmed specs is visiting 19 local businesses throughout the community and residents are invited to try tracking him down as a way to support local businesses and the Shop Local movement.

Those who wish to join in the fun can pick up a “Find Waldo in Washington Depot” passport from any of the participating stores. When they spot Waldo they collect a store stamp or signature.

To make things a little more challenging, Waldo’s famous black glasses will also be hiding in The Hickory Stick Bookshop.

There is no charge to participate and the hunt lasts for the entire month of July.

When searchers have collected at least 10 different store stamps/signatures, they can submit their passport to The Hickory Stick Bookstore to claim a Waldo temporary tattoo and a coupon for $1 off any book (limited to the first 125 Waldo-spotters). There will be prizes for participants who get 16 or more stamps in their passports.

Completed passports should be handed in to the Hickory Stick Bookshop by no later than 5 PM Monday, July 31st.

There will be a celebration party July 29th from 4-5 PM.
