Yoga + Symphony

If music has the power to soothe the savage breast and yoga can bring serenity to the soul, what happens when you combine the two in one morning of movement, mindfulness and melody?

Washington Wellness and members of the Waterbury Symphony Orchestra will provide the answer Saturday, October 12th, when they present Yoga + Symphony from 10 to 11:15AM at Spring Hill Vineyard, 292 Bee Brook Road in New Preston.

Participants are invited to experience a unique blend of yoga and live music with Waterbury Symphony Orchestra members Ed Allman on bass and Lee Caron on percussion and local yoga instructor Julie Haesche. This all-levels yoga class begins with meditation and gentle movement to awaken the senses followed by a flow designed to empower and open the body, guiding participants into a state of deep presence and peace.

Admission is $40 per person and all proceeds support Bravo Waterbury! an after-school, music education program for underserved children in Waterbury that promotes personal growth and academic success. BRAVO focuses on understanding, appreciation and enjoyment of orchestral music, combining creative instruction in instrumental music and choir with homework assistance, dance and personal growth.

Participants should bring their own yoga mat and water. Register at the link below.
